Final Numbers
I am very happy with my final numbers. I think that my weight on day 1 was off. When I started at home I weighed in at 138, but that doesn't matter to me at all. I headed in the right direction. My body fat is going down and it will continue to go that way if I keep doing it right.
The after numbers...ignore the numbers on the line and focus on the number circled. 1st trainer was a little sleepy and measured a little off. I ended up having another trainer double check them....those are the circled numbers.
I was pleased with how much better I did on the fitness test. I wish I had remembered the way I did the jump squats on day 1, but oh well...I did not do modified on the final day and my number was still greater.
I was really bummed with the fact that I have these stupid shin splints. I was really looking forward to seeing changes in the 10 minute run and even though I still did better I know I could have done even better if my body was at 100%.
There is a 2 week break in between this session and the next one. I am nervous. I know I can do it, but it's summer and I can see lazy me creeping up and while I know I can....I still have the old me in the back of my mind. My goal during this break is to lose at least 2-5lbs. so I don't start next boot camp at the same weight I am at now.
We'll see. New pics will be posted tomorrow!

Hell Week--CHECK!
Wow, I ended up doing 4 days of hell week instead of just 2. I had to make up 2 classes and I guess picking hell week to make them up was pure genius on my part!
Last week is partially a blur to me. It was tough, but I did it. I know there are so many things I can do now that there was no way I could accomplish 6 weeks ago.
Tonight was our last chance work out, but it sure felt like a "Hell Week" workout. Right, because doing 25 burpees, 50 pushups, 100 flutter kicks, 50 sit ups, 15 superman pushups, 25 jump squats, 6 laps (5 is 1 mile), then coming home and finishing my 25 jump squats and 50 crab walks, is totally not hell. It sounds like running in a field of daisy's in a white summer dress...oh wait! However, this last chance workout (since that's what it is being called) was amazing. We started with 3 small laps, then went into the items I listed about and in between each exercise we ran a big lap). In the beginning when Lauren said something about doing at least 5 laps, I knew that was my goal. If I could hit 5 laps I was good to go. Well when I hit 5 laps and we still had 7 minutes left I wanted to make it to 6. So we jogged in, did 15 superman push ups, then hit lap 6 and did walking lunges on the way in! Finished off with the 25 jumping squats and I thought I was going to die! Amazing work out, but hard a heck.
Hitting up Wednesday morning class to finish off the 6 week boot camp!
Measurements, testing results and pics to follow Thursday night!

Oh my HELL!
Day 1 of hell week and I have no clue how I am even typing right now. My upper body is aching. We started off with 21's. Not fun :) Start with 21 push ups, then 21 jump squats...then 20...19...18...all the way until 1. I think that was around 25 minutes of tonight's work out. After that we did 7 minutes of burpees. If you don't know what a burpee is, watch this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYfNA_lmkHM It was the first one I came across, so ignore the ginormous boobs on the foreign chick...you get the point. I got a little dizzy during this, but did not stop. So glad I made sure to eat tonight, it was a busy day and I could have easily forgotten. We then finished the night with a "game". I love that they calling a game....hahaha! Then the best, we planked with one arm down and one arm on the shoulder of the person next to us....it was a fairly long line of people. That would be a fun picture to have! Stretch, then done. Now it is bed time because I am up at 5:30am to go to the 6am boot camp to make up for a missed class. Of course of all weeks I am making it up, it's HELL week!

Updated pics
I'm finally getting around to posting my updated pics on my weight loss journey. Boot camp has been beyond amazing and this next week we enter into "HELL WEEK" and then the final week with retesting and final weigh in. There are two weeks in between the next session of boot camp and I'm going to be doing the 6am classes during the summer. The heat won't be as bad and with the girls gone for 3 weeks I wouldn't have a sitter at night. I hope the mornings aren't too bad...I am anything but a morning person!
2 more weeks and the final pics will be posted! Seriously, I take HORRIBLE pictures!

Learning Curve
Here is Lauren's reply to me on some questions I had about what to eat.
Hi Katie,
That's exactly what I needed. I think I can manage to figure out dinner, but breakfast is one of the hardest things for me. I don't have a problem remembering to eat it, just didn't know what to eat for that extra protein. So it looks like I will be buying some Greek yogurt today!
Hi Katie,
There is a blog post on the website (under the nutrition category) called "Top 10 Protein Snacks" that might help. I do take a protein supplement myself, but I also try to find natural sources as well (like edamame, healthy nuts, Greek yogurt (my favorite choice), beef jerky (high in sodium but great), egg whites, etc. The best place to start is what you're in the mood for. Instead of focusing on what WE eat or what others are eating, start with what you crave and try to find alternative foods for those cravings. For example, I love coconut and pineapple. I eat pineapple Greek yogurt and sprinkle a little coconut on top of it. I even throw in some dark chocolate bits once in a while if I'm having a sweet craving. This is a very healthy alternative to ice cream, pina coladas, etc.
I hope this helps - it takes research and hard work up front, but it will all become second nature to you in a couple of weeks, I promise. Consider this a learning curve that will get easier and easier the more research you do and questions you ask.

Pity Party
With boot camp, we don't just attend Tuesday's and Thursday's and call it done. We have homework. Yes I said homework. Our homework this week is in 3 parts---
1. 3 extra cardio workouts during the week
2. Food log-we have been tracking our food like I mentioned in my last post. Well this week we need to focus on our weakness...again, I'll do that as soon as I can figure out how.
3. Read this post, http://www.lakenonabootcamp.com/1/post/2011/11/the-power-of-resentment.html and focus on the past to find out WHY I am where I am.
So instead of just thinking about WHY. I decided to blog it. After reading Lauren's post, I was really glad I didn't fall under the resentment category. I don't care if you are skinnier than me, it's all the same at the end of the day. But I sit here trying to figure out why I am overweight. Here's my list...
1. I gave birth to 3 children. (Raising the oldest that I didn't give birth to is probably making me the fattest)
2. I love junk food.
3. I have hypothyroid.
4. I do not have time to workout with taking care of my kids and the house work.
5. I am a people pleaser and will say yes to someone before I think about what it will do to me.
So let's go over my list.
1. I gave birth to 3 children. Yep. Katie. You did. That was the plan. I guess I could be grateful I didn't get pregnant right after my 2nd baby....oh wait. I did!
2. Junk food. Why can't I say no to junk food? It's like that chocolate in my cupboard is taunting me and saying "haha fatty you know you want me". So I usually give in. Granted since last Monday I have not and that is HUGE for me.
3. Hypothyroid. I like to think of this as my "EXCUSE". I am fat because I can't lose weight because my body isn't allowing it to happen. I can use this for so many things. I do. Why? I am on medication, a synthetic thyroid, Synthroid. Is it helping me? My levels are good, but I don't feel that way.
4. No time. Really, I sometimes think that is 100% true. I am busy with 4 kids, helping in school, house, cooking...etc.! Time to make time. Boot camp is ME time.
5. I need to say no. Plain and simple NO! Working on that one...lol Saying yes to people takes away MY time and it's hurting me.
That's it! I am over my Excuses. No more excuses! I have 4 kids. I need to help my addiction to junk food. I have hypothyroid. I will find time and will say no when I can't physically do something for someone else. It's about me and how I feel and look.
If I feel good, I know I can look good!

Why I quit Zrii so soon and what now?
Honestly. I could not stomach the taste of the oil and fiber. That's it. I think it is a wonderful program and I was losing weight, but one morning I took it and after that I just could not mentally do it. Thankfully Zrii is an amazing company and offered a full refund.
So...how do I plan on still losing my weight?
BOOT CAMP! Not just any boot camp though, Lake Nona Boot Camp! Check them out on Facebook, these trainers are amazing and seriously kicking butt so far. http://www.facebook.com/lakenonabootcamp
I started boot camp on Tuesday, May 1st. I knew that I had to do something and this was it. I was done being overweight. After I stopped Zrii I got back up to 139, sad :( It just shows how quick I gain weight back. Boot camp is on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
Day 1-Kicked my butt big time! It was an insane work out. I haven't done anything like this since I was working out daily at the YMCA after Kaylie was born. I should have known to go back to something like this, but I always had an excuse.
Day 2- I knew I was in for it. I have mostly been worried about my knees since they were really sore after running the 5k (Lake Nona Pig Run). They seem to ache every so often, but nothing bad so far.
Day 3- Crossed our fingers we wouldn't get lightning and thundered out, but we did. However, we were able to get through some of the class. Apparently enough to make me feel sore today! Around 100 push ups will do that to you though and that is only one thing we did!
With only doing boot camp there is no way fat is going to just slip right off of me. Eating is a huge thing, especially for a food person like myself. I have changed my eating habits so much already, but I still have a ton to work on. Feel free to check out my food log to see what I have been eating and losing http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/Katielmeadows. Password is boot camp (with space between words).
Last night I got this info from one of the trainers on my food log. I love his input and can't wait to put it to action when I find the solutions to some of my questions...which I will address when I get those answers.
I currently weigh 134.2lbs and I am loving seeing the changes!

"Katie,
Lauren asked me to review your food logs for the past week. First of all, great job on keeping up recording your food intake! After looking them over, I have a couple of suggestions for you.
Protein
Although your daily protein totals have exceeded the recommended intake, several studies have shown that the timing of protein intake is more important than total consumption. What this means is every time you eat you should try to include 15-20 grams of quality protein (protein from meats, dairy products, protein powder, etc.). Also immediately following exercising, especially after boot camp, it is important to consume a quality source of liquid protein (e.g., protein shake, chocolate milk (that does not contain high fructose corn syrup) and a carbohydrate within 15 minutes (milk gives you both protein and carbs). By consuming this immediately after exercise you are ultimately "feeding" your muscles, so they do not have to "eat themselves". This may seem like a crazy analogy, but that is pretty much what occurs.
I noticed you eat yogurt on a regular basis, have you tried Greek yogurt? It has a much higher concentration of protein, which would make for a great snack. It appears you have the most trouble consuming adequate protein for breakfast and for your snacks.
Carbohydrates
You were pretty good with your carbohydrates. One suggestion I have would be to keep an eye on the number of carbs you consume at dinner or evening snack. I try to eat my highest carbohydrate meals during breakfast, lunch, pre-, and post-workout. Ideally you want to consume a food low on the glycemic index (http://www. healthchecksystems.com/ glycemic.htm) prior to exercise (timing depends on your preference) and a high glycemic food following exercise with a source of protein.
Snacks
In your logs you have a category for snacks, are these spread out throughout the day? I would be cautious with the wheat thins and other similar crackers. They are heavily processed and are very easy to "overeat". As you can see on your food logs it only takes 8 crackers to reach 65 calories, although 8 crackers are not terrible, I know from first-hand experience that 8 crackers can easily turn in to a lot more. I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I would really like you to add some more protein to your snack.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I think with a few little changes you will see great results! Keep with it!"

Zrii Purify Day 3
Today is tough. I'm not feeling 100%, nothing to do with this...I think it's a bug. I'm hoping not. I just want to go back to bed and not eat. I hate feeling crummy, especially when I have to go drink my fiber and that oil.
7:15am Morning Detox Pills
8:30am Fiber & Oil....I chased my oil with some Crystal Light lemonade, making this the easiest time so far. The fiber wasn't as easy today, but not because of taste, just because of how I'm feeling.
8:40am 2 Scrambled eggs
9am BM
9am Handful of plain almonds
10:20am BM
Feeling much better now. My head is hurting a little, from the absence of my caffeine I'm sure. It will go away soon enough.
12pm BM
12:15pm Zrii Achieve Strawberry banana shake for lunch-going to try something new very soon.
Added a handful of almonds to lunch. Headache went away around 1pm.
2:30pm BM
3:45pm Orange for snack
4:45pm---Mistake of the day. I ate dinner way too early, but it was delicious. I had Black Bean Soup
6:00pm BM
7:00pm Baby Shower with TONS of desserts (pic will be added soon...phone dead) I avoided ALL of them. I had a bunch of strawberries and apples. Thank goodness those were options.
9:15pm BM
9:40pm Fiber & Oil, same routine as this morning.
10:15pm PM Detox Pill
Tonight will probably be a little bit of a late night, but I will also get to sleep in :) Day 3 was a success!
Crazy, but I am really looking forward to my eggs in the morning and some black bean soup for lunch or dinner...not sure yet :)
I realized I should probably be adding my exercise in so today I rode Kaylie to school on her bike and then rode around neighborhood for a few extra minutes. In the afternoon I walked to pick her up from school, and it was hot and nasty. About 1 mile total there and back.

Morning Weigh In After Day 2
Ok, I didn't know what to expect this morning. Of course I was hoping for a loss, but I was ok if it didn't happen.
Stepped on the scale and smiled. 135.8. I have lost a total of 1.2 pounds so far. Yah for me.

Zrii Purify Day 2
I was not as quick to jump out of bed this morning. I was very tired last night and was luckily able to get in bed at 10pm. As of now I have had zero bm from the fiber. (TMI for some of you)
7:30am Four AM Detox Pills-easy again
7:40am Oil-I think this is the hardest part for me and it's only 1TBS! I can't get over how little it is, but how much it affects me. I actually followed my oil with my fiber this morning to get rid of the oil taste.
7:40am Fiber-Now that I'm drinking it with water, piece of cake.
Breakfast-I wanted something simple and tasty. So I went with 2 scrambled eggs with a tiny bit of salt and pepper. It was perfect. I had a handful of plain almonds while I was cooking eggs.
10am BM
12pm BM
12:30pm Lunch time. I decided to go with half of an all natural peanut butter on 100% whole wheat bread sandwich, 2 oranges and a handful of almonds. I feel full and that is perfect :)
2:30pm Accell drink, just because I realized I was slacking on water consumption today and I was in need of a little energy boost (which I totally got).
3:20pm Plain almonds-my kids were eating junk food and I wanted it oh so bad, so I grabbed some almonds and felt much better. I would love something very sweet to eat right now, but there is no way I'm giving in.
4pm BM
5:40pm I miss my Diet Dr. Pepper right now, especially the lack of it that is giving me a headache!
6:00pm Oh my mistake. Do no mix the oil with your fiber and water. You then have to drink the oil with the fiber and you get that taste the entire time. So, we are sticking with the oil alone (as nasty as it is) and the water with the fiber. See mistake below!
6:15pm I made a delicious strawberry banana shake with my Achieve French Vanilla. I had cut up some strawberries and bananas the other night and put in the freezer to help with keeping my shake colder longer. I then added a few extra strawberries. It was perfect.
I'm going to post this now, but I'll finish my night off with an apple, my PM Detox pills and the rest of my water! Can't wait to weigh in tomorrow morning.

Morning Weigh In After Day 1
I thought it would be fun to track my daily weight. So after day 1 I stepped on the scale and it said....dun dun dun.
136.4
I am down .6lbs. Good for me, can't wait for this fiber to kick in and knock that other weight out of me!

Zrii Purify Day 1
So I woke up this morning at 7am. I normally stay in bed until about 7:45ish, but I was so excited to get started on my cleanse that I jumped out of bed shortly after.
7:10am FOUR AM detox pills with water- piece of cake!
7:35am Oil. Ok I thought this would be the easy part, but good gosh that 1 TBS was not very yummy.
7:35am I proceeded to use apple juice with my one ginormous scoop of fiber (which has an orange flavor). It was thick and disgusting, I gagged three times. I thought, I'm going to quit. I can't do this.
7:45am I made a shake using my Zrii Achieve French Vanilla. Strawberries, bananas, Silk Almond Vanilla milk, and an orange (which I didn't completely peel, but I will next time) It was pretty good. It took me little bit to drink it, but I think it is because of the horrible fiber drink I had just had and because it makes quite a bit.
My morning was done and now it was time to move on with my day. After of course laughing like crazy on the phone with my BF (who thankfully introduced me to Zrii). I was fine not eating up until a little before lunch, then I just had a fruit and I was fine. For lunch I had a Publix turkey sandwich with mustard, veggies and the inside of the bread pulled out so it wasn't so full of carbs. It wasn't the best sandwich, I honestly ONLY missed the mayo (sad). Lunch over, I was good until around 4:30 when I started making the kids dinner. Luckily I received my Accell drink sticks in the mail (to add to my water) and I had one of those in the meantime. I was in the middle of doing stuff for church that night so I was unable to eat until around 6:20pm. For dinner I had a yummy spring and spinach salad with tomatoes and cucumbers diced and a small amount (less than 1tbs.) of light Italian dressing. It was really yummy, sadly didn't keep me full.
9pm (yes late, but I was at church)
Fiber drink-this time we are going with water and making sure it mixes WELL. I used my Ninja blender
and I took the drink down no problem this time. So I have learned a lesson, water it is.
Right after I took the oil and it was just as hard this time. I had a banana with me though, so I was able
to shove that in my mouth right after. Didn't want to eat that late, but I had to get something in my
tummy. I also had a very small handful of plain almonds.
Oh and I drank all of my water for the day and finished my day off with my 2 PM Detox pills.
So how did day 1 go? Great in my opinion. I learned how to take my fiber and sort of my oil. I can't wait to try out the amazing recipes for my shake tomorrow. I think I'm going to try replacing a different meal with the shake tomorrow instead of breakfast. See how I like lunch or dinner with a shake...???

Nasty Fiber Drink in AM Strawberry/banana smoothie
Accell snack. It was pretty good. Nothing amazing, but very easy to take down.

Why do I look like crap in these pictures?
Because I feel like crap in what I'm wearing and I think that's rightly so.
I'm Over-weight and Over It!
I'm 31 years old, I have 4 kids and I'm over-weight. Plain and simple. There are no skipping corners on this one, it is what it is. I love junk food, candy, fast food, I'm sure the list could go on. Last night before I knew I was going to be starting my "detox" I had to get one last goodie in...ya just one, so of course I picked up a King Size Twix bar AND a King Size Kit Kat, heaven forbid I stop at just one of those. I needed a fix for the next week while I went through this cleanse. Let's not fake that while you are reading this you aren't A-Craving one of those like crazy, B-Eating one of those or C-You have had one in the last couple days! It's ok, it's not good for you...but admit it, get over it and get on with your skinniness! Keep up with me as I tell you about my experience and thoughts and I take on the Zrii Z-Body Challenge!

And I threw in this picture because if I could eat something right now, it would be 5 Guys!
